Next to my home and my car, buying a solar system is the biggest purchase I’ve ever made. It is for many people I would think.
On that basis, it needed research and it needed careful consideration to work out what we needed and whether it was all worth the expenditure. So I began my journey towards our system a long time ago. I knew nothing so I took my time. I would say I’ve taken nearly 2 years and watched countless videos, spoken to at least 30 companies and even put myself on a training course to become a solar surveyor and specifier !
So I had a pretty good idea of what was needed but then who could deliver ? I wasn’t about to get on a roof and I’m not an electrician, so that ruled out any kind of DIY project, so my wife breathed a huge sigh of relief !
No, the job required a professional expert that could cope with the most nervous of clients (as they say, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing).
Well, I am delighted to say that in Lewis and his team at LET Renewables, I have found just the right people.
My system is a solar system feeding a Tesla Powerwall 3 battery with a back up gateway and wiall charger for our EV. It all works perfectly and I must say how pleased we are with the very discreet cabling and appearance of the whole job.
They really do go the extra mile and do their best to accommodate any ideas or suggestions you may have. In short, the installation was collaborative and co-operative, all the personnel were polite and friendly, nothing was too much trouble.

What a great installation. The guys were here on time and just got cracking; I gave them a hand lifting some floorboards to run the cables to the meter all the way from the back garden and they did a really neat job of the wiring and fuse box. Good communication from everyone involved. Meanwhile, the solar panels were carefully installed on the roof of my garden room. I had some existing panels on the main roof of the house and their output is now combined with the new system, unfortunately meaning I have a small, redundant GivEnergy battery but that is not a problem. The Segen battery and inverter were all connected the following day and all the packaging magically disappeared! I was given a run-through on the app to get me started so I can now see exactly what’s happening and learn to make the most of the system. Thanks to the whole team.

After getting quotes from a few solar suppliers it was obvious from the first visit of Paul that Let were the most efficient company. The attention to detail during his visit carried through to dealing with the office and accepting the quote. Daisy in the office co-ordinated the whole fitting process. The guys turned up at the time advised and despite the high temperatures worked hard all day and fitted 25 panels plus a battery and inverter, all in the one day. The fitting looks good and was very professionally carried out. Once finished they cleared up and there was no mess left. They were a great team working well together. Kieran made all the electrical connections and Marley advised on what had been done and the basic working of our system. When they all left we felt we had had an mazing job done. LET Electrical and Renewables installed my solar panel system in June 2026. They installed two solar arrays on my house roof and extension roof, a battery for storage, and inverter and a gateway so I can run off grid for energy independence.
I selected LET for a number of reasons. They were a local established electrical business. They did not use sub contractors (except for scaffolding)They were a trusted partner of Octopus energy. They attended the house to give a quote and suggested the best logistical setup for my house of the 4 companies that gave me a quote. They were also the best value quote.
The quality of work they carried out was of the highest standard. The disruption was minimal, they tidied up after, and they admitted they had cracked a tile on completion and returned the following day to replace it. They were hard working, honest and professional and the system works beautifully. I can not recommend them highly enough.
